The Springfield Utility Board provides industrial customers with a comprehensive report to identify cost effective efficiency improvements. Eligible measures include high efficiency motors, adjustable speed drives, process modifications, compressed air system improvements, energy efficient lighting, energy management control systems, cooling tower conversions, heat recovery equipment, and chiller installations. Load management and billing assessments also qualify. The utility provides incentives for qualifying projects based on the first year savings multiplied by an agreed upon ¢/kWh.

Energy savings will be calculated from sub-metering following installation of the equipment. Motors qualify for rebates only, with the amount of incentive offered dependent on motor size. The utility will also help customers apply for a 35 percent state energy tax credit, to be spread out over 5 years.
