In July 2010, New Hampshire enacted legislation (S.B. 327) requiring investor-owned utilities and electric cooperatives to disclose the energy sources of their electricity and the environmental characteristics associated with their electric service. In September 2011, the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission approved the content and format for a standard disclosure label to convey this information. Utilities must distribute the label to customers at least once annually, and must make the label available online and update it at least once annually.
