Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) as part of its Residential Solutions Program offers various rebates and incentives for its residential customers to install energy-saving measures. Incentives are available for attic insulation, duct sealing, HVAC, air filtration reduction and more.
Eligibility
To participate in the program, the applicant:
1. Must be a residential customer of SWEPCO with a valid account number.
2. Must live in a single-family home (i.e., a duplex or less) or an individually metered multi-family home (i.e., a residential unit containing three or more units).
3. Renters and owners are eligible.
4. Must live in a home that is a minimum of two years old.
Program Description
The applicant must first contact the participating energy contractor listed on the program website. The energy consultant will schedule a home energy assessment. The home assessment is categorized into two tiers. All residences are eligible for first-tier assessment where the energy contractor will perform a walk-through assessment and install various qualifying equipment with the applicant’s approval. These equipment include fluorescent light bulbs, low flow showerheads, and faucet aerators.
To qualify for the second-tier assessment the applicant’s home must meet or exceeds $0.10/sq ft. This metric is calculated by dividing the home’s highest summer electric bill by square footage of your home. Second Tier assessment includes additional testing, calculations for energy savings, payment, and estimated incentives the applicant is eligible for.
The applicants have six months from the date of energy assessment to have the measure installed. Funding for the program is limited and the incentives will be provided until the funding is exhausted.
The program requires that all of the installations must be performed by a participating contractor. The program website includes a list of participating contractors for the program. These contractors have registered with the program and have undergone training to provide quality installations as required by the program.
