Kentucky Power (AEP) offers several energy efficiency programs for residential customers.
The Targeted Energy Efficiency Program provides weatherization and energy efficiency services to qualifying residential customers who need help reducing their energy bills and improving their homes’ safety and comfort. To determine if you qualify for this program, please contact the local community action agency in your county of residence.
The Modified Energy Fitness Program can help you identify and fix areas in your home that may be losing valuable energy. The program is offered at no charge to customers who live in all-electric homes that used an average of 1,000 kWh per month over the last 12 months.
The Mobile Home New Construction Program provides a $500 incentive to mobile home buyers who purchase a new home with Zone 3 insulation levels and a high efficiency air-source heat pump in place of resistance heat and standard efficiency central air conditioning.
The High Efficiency Heat Pump Program and the Mobile Home High Efficiency Heat Pump Program provide up to a $500 incentive when you upgrade your home's central electric resistance heating system or existing heat pump with a new high efficiency air-source heat pump unit.
The Energy Efficient Product Program allows any Kentucky Power residential electric customer residing in Kentucky who purchases an ENERGY STAR® certified appliance between February 1 and December 31, 2015 is eligible to receive rebates for refrigerators & freezers, clothes washers, heat pump water heaters, and dehumidifiers.
Discounts on energy efficient CFL and LED lighting are available through Kentucky Power's online lighting store.
