Vectren Energy Delivery offers commercial customers in Indiana electric rebates for the installation of certain types of equipment in newly constructed buildings through its Energy Design Assistance (EDA) program and its Design Team Service Incentive. Eligible projects will receive prescriptive incentives from Energizing Indiana as outlined in the program applications and websites.
Standard EDA
Standard EDA targets buildings that are less than 100,000 square feet. The Vectren New Construction program offers electrical energy-saving incentives for equipment and systems that exceed Indiana Energy Code requirements or standard industry practice and are not eligible for prescriptive incentives from Vectren or Energizing Indiana. Incentives are based on the forecasted electric energy savings. Custom projects must be preapproved prior to the project’s start. Eligible custom projects earn up to $0.12 per kilowatt hour (kWh) saved. Incentives are limited to $100,000 per customer per calendar year.
Enhanced EDA
Vectren offers a one-time, lump-sum incentive to building owners for participation in the Enhanced EDA program. Enhanced EDA targets new commercial buildings greater than 100,000 square feet. Facilities must exceed Indiana Energy Code requirements by 10 percent in order to qualify for an Enhanced EDA incentive. Facilities earn $0.12 per kilowatt hour (kWh) saved up to $100,000 based on the first-year energy savings determined in the final energy model. Technologies that are eligible for Energizing Indiana’s prescriptive incentives will be paid through Energizing Indiana and will not be paid out at $0.12 per kWh through EDA.
Design Team Service Incentive
The design team service incentive is a fixed amount based on the new, conditioned square footage and is paid to the designated design team lead provided that the proposed energy efficiency projects associated with the construction documents exceed a minimum energy savings threshold in units of kilowatt-hours (kWh):
