Summary

The District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) offers Residential Energy Efficiency Program that provides financial incentives to District residents to install energy- efficient equipment in their homes. Incentives are available for a variety of equipment including refrigerators, clothes washers, boilers, water heaters, furnaces, and insulation. In addition to the financial incentives, the DCSEU website also includes handy information guides and factsheets about saving energy in the residences. 

Eligibility
The financial incentives are only available to residents of the District. All equipment must be purchased new and installed by a DCSEU participating contractor at a residence within the District. The current level of rebates are available until end of March 2016. Interested participants for installing water heater, boilers, and furnaces can contact DCSEU participating contractor to understand their available options. Rebates for other appliances are available at the DCSEU website. Incentives for CFL and LED lighting offered as in-store rebates at participating retailers. The DCSEU’s website includes a link to participating retailers and information about qualifying lighting. 
  
The DCSEU provides additional incentives up to $1,800 to homeowners for insulation, sealing, and HVAC improvements through its DC Home Performance program .
