Hawaii's High Energy Costs Are Incentivizing Solar Panel Purchasing And Installation
Despite paying more than twice the price for solar panels than the average U.S. state, an upward trend of solar panel purchases and installations continues toward growth.
Electricity created by traditional sources is already very expensive in Hawaii, so many of its inhabitants are switching to solar to find those long-term savings that only solar panels can generate.
“Hawaii has the highest electricity in the nation. There is a financial incentive to install solar,” said Alan Yonan, communications officer for Hawaii State Energy Office.
Spend A Little, Save A Lot From Solar
For many citizens of Hawaii, the switch to cost-saving solar panels was a natural move to make. Local, Kayla Wolf, stats that getting off the grid was a straightforward choice when she moved to Kona from central California.
“The main reason we went solar was the price of mainly installing the electricity, plus then, the price of using it,” she said. She and others have been able to cover the cost of their solar panels times over after five years. These same savings can translate anywhere. Maybe it is your time to purchase some well priced solar panels.
