Australian renewable energy company Wirsol Energy Pty Limited, part of German Wircon Group, has connected the 60 MW »Gannawarra Solar Farm« in North-West Victoria to the grid. The plant was developed by, and is owned in conjunction with Edify Energy who have also managed its construction. The commissioning process has commenced. The solar farm is connected on site to Powercor’s 66 kV distribution line between Swan Hill and Kerang, providing easy access to Victoria’s power grid. The next step is combining the Gannawarra Energy Storage System powered by a 25 MW / 50 MWh Tesla Powerpack battery to the solar farm. Completion is scheduled before summer 2018.
