After the opening of the preliminary insolvency proceedings at the end of March, German solar company SolarWorld Industries GmbH has resumed production at the two locations in Freiberg and Arnstadt. The first shipments to customers are scheduled for this week. According to the company, deliveries are made to France, Kuwait, Japan, Sri Lanka and Germany. The largest single order is for around 14,000 solar modules for a customer in Kuwait; 6,000 of these modules are »now on their way«.
The provisional insolvency administrator Christoph Niering explained that it was »important to restart production as quickly as possible«. In the coming weeks it will be a matter of fulfilling further orders and at the same time getting in contact with potential investors for the company. The number of feedbacks on this is »promising«. Solarworld Industries had only emerged in August from the insolvency of Solarworld AG.
