Astronergy has signed off on an 80MW PV module supply contract with Atlas Renewable Energy, which is developing an 80MW solar power plant located in Aquiraz, Ceará, Brazil.
The project, Sol do Futuro, is scheduled to be delivered by the second quarter of 2018.
Looking forward, the Brazilian government plans to increase the installed PV capacity in the country from 2015 to 2024 by 67GW, representing an increase of about 48% of the total energy in Brazil.
Astronergy CEO Dr. Lu Chuan said: "With the Belt and Road Initiative and the promising global solar market, we are paying more attention to emerging markets in South America, especially Brazil."
