Powerfilm is a US-based solar company specializing in the design, manufacturing and assembly of remote, portable solar solutions. In the past Powerfilm has produced semiflexible crystalline silicon panels under contract with the Department of Defense and for various OEM manufacturers. The Soltronix brand makes these capabilities available for interested commercial customers. Soltronix will offers standard products ranging from 24 W to 100 W.
According to the company, Powerfilm has served consumers, innovative commercial clients, and the US government since being founded in Ames, Iowa, in 1988. Powerfilm's products are predominantly made using amorphous silicon.
