Elemental Energy completes 17 MW »Brooks Solar« plant in Canada

Canadian developer, investor and operator of renewable energy projects Elemental Energy Inc. announced the completion of the 17 MW »Brooks Solar« project located in Newell County, Alberta, Canada. The project has achieved commercial operation and is now feeding renewable energy into the Alberta grid. Construction was led by Borea Construction, while the solar panels were provided by Jinko Solar Canada. Debt financing was provided by National Bank of Canada and Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) is a contributing partner on the project. Elemental Energy invested the equity to construct, own, and operate the project.

According to the company, »Brooks Solar« is the first utility scale solar project in Western Canada. Alberta targets 30 percent renewable energy by 2030.
