German company Belectric has signed an Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contract for a 120 MW solar project in Israel.
Solel Boneh Ltd., will work as a joint venture alongside Belectric Israel, a subsidiary of Belectric acting as a service provider for operation and maintenance, and providing a turnkey system for the large-scale Israeli-based PV plant. The renewable energy arm of Israel conglomerate Shikun and Binui will own the plant.
Construction is planned to start in the next few months, while its the commissioning is expected to take place sometime in 2019. “All project details are approved, so we can start construction in the coming months. I would like to thank the owner, Shikun & Binui, for their trust in our PV products and services,” said Guy Shahar, Managing Director of Belectric Israel Ltd.
“Zeélim is the largest single PV project in our company’s history outside of Germany. We are very proud that this EPC contract has been awarded to us. This is in line with our strategy to significantly grow our business in key solar markets like Israel,” explains Ingo Alphéus, CEO of BELECTRIC Solar & Battery GmbH.
Prior to the project based around Zeélim, 17 solar projects had already been realized by the German EPC specialist in Israel, amounting to 200 MW since 2013.
When completed the Zeélim based solar plant will produce more than 220 GW hours of green electricity per year.
