Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland – RVO) announced that it has received a total of 5,783 applications with a combined capacity of 5.3 GW for the second round of its 2017 SDE+ (Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie) program for large-scale solar and renewable energy power projects.
Of these projects 5,456 were for PV projects exceeding 15 kW in size and reached an aggregate capacity of 3,221 MW. Wind and geothermal projects totaled 1,179 MW and 264 MW respectively, while the remaining capacity, around 400 MW, was pre-assigned to other renewable energy technologies.
The “autumn round” for 2017, which was the second and last round for this year, was open from October 3 to October 27. The available budget for this round was €6 billion.
In the 2017 “spring round”, which was concluded in September, the RVO had allocated 2,353 MW of solar. Applications for solar projects in this round had totaled 2,647 MW.
The SDE+ compensates for the difference between the price of renewable energy and the market value of the energy supplied. Subsidies are allocated for periods of 8, 12 or 15 years depending on the maximum number of full load hours for each technology.
The Dutch government allocated approximately €12 billion for the SDE+ program in 2017.
