Vikram Solar commissions 80MW solar project in Gujarat

India-based integrated PV module manufacturer and EPC Vikram Solar has commissioned two 40MW solar PV power projects for Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL), in the state of Gujarat.

The project, at Gujarat Solar Park, in Charanka, faced floods and adverse weather conditions during its development according to Gyanesh Chaudhary, managing director and CEO, Vikram Solar.

Vikram will provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) service to the plant for a period of 10 years from the date of commissioning.

The plants are spread across 156 hectares of land, using 250,429 modules.

Anupam Dhiman, executive director, EPC Solar, Vikram Solar said: “This project will not only help us strengthen our foothold in Gujarat but also enable us in contributing to the overall green energy drive.”

The project is part of the National Solar Mission phase-II, batch-IV, tranche-I.

Vikram Solar anounced expansion of its module manufacturing capacity from 900MW to 1GW at its fab in Kolkata back in June.
