A total of 310 MW from 15 large scale solar projects were put into service in the USA in August 2017, compared to 94 MW added in July 2017. Among new generation connected from large scale energy projects, solar energy was next to wind, which installed 503 MW in August 2017.
According to consultancy Mercom Capital Group, new installed solar generation includes the »Gulf Coast Solar Center III« (50 MW) in Escambia County, Florida; »Gulf Coast Solar Center II (40 MW) in Santa Rosa County, Florida; »Gulf Coast Solar Center I« (30 MW) in Okaloosa County, Florida; City of Worcester DPW’s 7 MW »Worcester Landfill Solar Project« in Worcester County, Massachusetts; and »Solar Mission SunE’s 5 MW »Brockton Landfill Solar Project« in Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
