Japanese module shipments in calendar year Q2 2017 totaled 1,333 MW an increase of 2.5 percent compared to 1,367 MW in Q2 2016, according to Mercom Capital Group. Domestic shipments in Q2 2017 decreased by 32 percent totaling 1,263 MW compared to 1,869 MW in Q1 2017 and increased by 7 percent compared to the same quarter last year (1,185 MW). Of the shipment total approximately 58 percent, were supplied by Japanese companies. Shipments to commercial/industrial projects 500 kW or larger was approximately 110 percent, while for residential projects and projects smaller than 500 kW shipments stood at 246 MW. Shipments for the miscellaneous category increased to 8,273 MW.
