The local government area’s Western Downs Regional Council has approved its ninth solar farm to the region. Location of the PV plant with an expected capacity between 150 MW and 240 is about 42 km west of Dalby. The APA Group’s »Beelbee Solar Farm« project will complement the 110 MW »Darling Downs Solar Farm«, currently under construction. The project is expected to employ up to 450 workers during peak construction, and support up to six full time operational staff. Details were not disclosed.
At the end of August, the Council has approved Shell Australia, subsidiary of multi-national oil giant Royal Dutch Shell, to develop the 250 MW »Delga Solar Farm« south-west of Wandoan, Queensland.
