More than four weeks after the July 13 fire at the company’s cell production facility »Fab 7« in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, Chinese JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. provided an update regarding this incident. According to the company, there were no injuries in the incident, and it maintains insurance coverage for its production equipment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The company estimates a loss in cell production capacity of 500 MW per annum as a result of the accident and therefore expects its year-end cell capacity to be 6.5 GW, instead of the previous guidance of 7.0 GW. JA Solar expects to restore the lost cell capacity by the first quarter of 2018.
