Ingeteam, a Spain-headquartered developer of solar PV inverters, has secured a deal to supply its central inverter solutions to three solar projects in Morocco totaling 170 MW in capacity.
Ingeteam will ship 35 of its Inverter Station, which are 4.66 MW each in size and feature dual inverters with 1,000 Vdc technology inside, and were chosen for the projects due to their ability to withstand extreme and diverse ambient temperatures – the likes of which the projects in Morocco are likely to be exposed to.
Ingeteam will install and maintain the central inverters as part of the ongoing operation of the solar farms, which are being installed under the framework of Morocco’s bold clean energy goal, which is targeting a 52% renewable energy penetration ratio by 2030.
Shipping is set to begin shortly, and will augment Ingeteam’s existing presence in Africa, which currently amounts to 230 MW of solar inverter capacity across five projects in South Africa. The company has also recently been awarded the supply and commissioning contract for the three substations being built in Malawi.
