According to the latest figures of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), in the first six month about 176 large-scale PV facilities representing 2,050 MW went online in the United States (H1 2016: 2,132 MW). In total, about 14,746 MW new power generation capacity was installed (i.e. natural gas: 8,729 MW; wind: 3,639 MW). This include new built and expansion of existing plants.
Total installed PV capacity reached 27.2 GW at the end of June. Total available installed generating capacity in the USA is 1,189 GW (i.e. natural gas: 517 GW; coal: 284 GW; nuclear: 106 GW; water: 100 GW; renewables: 133 GW).
