The Spanish Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda (Ministerio de Energía, Turismo y Agenda Digital) has published the list of 40 winners from its latest renewables auction in July. In total, 3,909 MW PV capacity was awarded (30 projects between 100 kW and 1,550 MW), furthermore about 1,127 MW of wind capacity.
As reported, in May the Spanish renewable energy auction for a total of 3 GW saw the entire range being awarded only to wind energy. No solar project was awarded in the auction. The Spanish photovoltaic union UNEF (Unión Española Fotovoltaica) has said that the auction results indicate the discrimination towards solar energy.
