Greenhouse gases and renewable energy

Climate scientists all over the world are busy analyzing data gathered on the critically important topic of global warming. On November 13, 2017, more than 16,500 scientists from 184 countries published a second warning to humanity, an urgent report with a short 2-page summary and 7 graphs illustrating the key indicators. The speed of decline in our planet’s main life-sustaining systems is clear. We are at the “tipping point”  on 6 of the indicators.

Global warming a constant threat to humanity

Climate change is at the heart of many of these degrading earth processes. Extreme heat, wildfires, rain deluges, more frequent and violent storms, and flooding due to rising sea levels are some of the immediate symptoms. How will humans adapt to react to the undeniable scientific evidence? Some policymakers in America are extremely ignorant on climate change matters and some believe it will take a new administration to return to environmentally responsible policies.

Active participation and personal responsibility are no longer seen as optional. Whenever possible, we must learn to reduce our carbon footprint or face dire consequences.
Globally, we have the technological ability, the business models and the economic resources to stop or reverse the damage.  Consistent leadership must come from individual citizens to push governments and corporations to act before it’s too late.

Steps you can take to help climate change

Take personal responsibility daily. There are many ways to cut our energy use and to incorporate methods of using energy more efficiently.
