100% renewable energy by 2050 

Calling all renewable energy advocates; a public goal  attaining 100% renewable energy is in the works in United States by 2050. Great goal in mind, but does it receive the media attention it deserves? From the media hype of Donald Trump to celebrity news, let’s remember what brings more good in the world; the 100% use of clean energy. The Democratic members of the Congress and Senate announced a  100 by ‘50 Act that receives little attention. A majority of  clean energy leaders, don’t publicly state supporting the goal of 100% by 2050 goal. If Congress and clean energy leaders won’t step up, then it falls on us   to raise this the public opinion to shape a better future. 

Below are recommendations to bring greater awareness for the 100% renewable energy by 2050. This is a communications strategy for all advocates to bring attention and support to the 100% renewable energy goal. The idea is to motivate voters to make it a 100% priority for election cycles and beyond. Congress is looking for a  massive win after the healthcare loss. There’s bipartisan support for a grand infrastructure bill. If there’s any chance of 100% renewables getting passed in this current Congress, it will need to be attached to that legislation.

100% by 2050 for individuals: 

If nothing else, we’ll make this goal public and translate it into a key voter issue. Here’s the plan:

1. Post on your social media channels that you support 100% renewable energy by 2050. Include the Solutions Project #100IsNow hashtag in your post. Remember to ask people to share that post and include the same #100IsNow hashtag.
Contact your congressman via email or phone call. There contact information is public information. Let them know you’re registered voter in their district/state who will be voting and want a 100% renewable energy goal to be a part of any infrastructure legislation. Individual short emails are much better than a prewritten email.  

2. Share this post with your employees and ask them to pass it along to their contacts on Facebook and Twitter.

3. Write a blog post or press statement stating your commitment to helping the U.S. For this goal. Pledge some kind of action by a certain date that helps move the needle toward this goal.

4. Send the above blog or press statement to all of your business contacts. Ask them to also look up their congressman or senator and include the suggested individual voter actions, use the same hashtag, and share the message on their own social media.
Join and support advocacy and renewables lobbying organizations that have specifically made this 100% renewables by 2050 commitment. Focus on those who’ve publicly committed to this goal.
