Solar power supports climate change

We are now fully convinced of the causes of climate change and man is the main offender. Can we stop this long slide into planetary carelessness? Science tells us that igniting fossil fuels is causing thousands of premature deaths, illnesses and other harm to life on the planet. Is there a way to create power that doesn't harm life? Solar is the answer and it has been ready to go for some time.

How does a solar panel create energy?

A solar panel is actually a collection of solar cells. They work collectively to supply electricity for various uses. A single cell does not have the potential for generating much electricity so multiple cells are combined together to increase the cumulative capacity. The greater the light available to the solar panels,  the greater the amount of electricity they can supply. Solar panels are intended to convert light into electricity. The method of extracting electricity from light is called Photovoltaic (PV) and the PV process converts solar energy into electricity. A PV cell, also known as a self-generating barrier layer cell is a PV detector that changes radiant flux straight into electrical current. A solar panel consists of a thin silver film on a semiconductor layer deposited on an iron substrate.

How about a little solar history?

Solar energy dates back more than a century, to the middle of the industrial revolution. But even before that, prehistoric man situated his home so that the sun would provide heat. There were many groundbreaking solar power plants created to produce steam from the heat of the sun, which was used to drive the machinery.  Photovoltaic energy remained rare for many years since it was rather inefficient at converting sunlight into electricity. There are no harmful discharges from solar equipment and its operations are noise free, which makes it preferred to alternative forms of electricity generation. The use of solar power for remote homes is winning favor and becoming more useful in every way. In the recent past, people who wanted to live in remote areas had to pay an exceptionally high price for power.  It was often very hard to get power to these remote locations because an electrical infrastructure is required to distribute power to home and businesses. But houses with solar technology are practically self-sufficient and as a bonus, they have no worries about blackouts.

The utility of solar energy is inspiring

Solar power has a large number of uses, great and small. Even a phone box in the middle of nowhere can be powered by solar power from solar panels killing the need for underground cables or an expensive generator.

PV systems can now be used to power a wide variety of our everyday essentials from watches to hot water. The development of a commercial vehicle that can, at least partly procure its power from the sun will solve a lot of difficulties such as pollution emissions from the burning of fossil fuels and the value of using a finite resource will be considerably reduced. The more solar power we use the greater the relief on current powering systems and this can help avoid creating more nuclear reactors that produce terrible pollution problems with the attempted safe disposal of highly radioactive waste. Solar power simply doesn't present any of the obstacles that have hounded fossil fuels for all these years. Once you install solar, you will likely eliminate your electric bill and you will know that you are doing your part to make the modifications needed for the planet to survive.
